A Spark is a voluntary gift of appreciation, not a purchase. This policy explains what happens when a Spark is not claimed, and when a refund is possible.
The 72-hour claim period
- When a sender creates a one-time Spark code (QR or link), the recipient has 72 hours to claim it.
- If the Spark is not claimed within 72 hours, it expires automatically and the full amount is returned to the sender. No action is needed from the sender.
- Expired or already-claimed codes simply show that the Spark is no longer available. The sender can create a new one at any time.
- Spark does not keep unclaimed funds and charges no fee on an expired Spark.
Once a Spark is claimed
- A claimed Spark belongs to the recipient and appears in their Spark Balance. Claimed Sparks are final and non-refundable.
- Senders cannot reverse a claimed Spark, because the gift has already been accepted by the recipient.
- Recipients receive their money through the standard payout process once a bank account is connected through our payment partner.
Fees
Any applicable fee will be clearly disclosed before you confirm a transaction. Instant Deposit or other expedited payout options may be offered with a separately disclosed fee.
Payouts after claiming
- Recipients connect a bank account through our payment partner. Spark never sees or stores bank credentials.
- Deposits are scheduled automatically. An estimated deposit date is shown only after a bank account is connected — never before.
- Estimated dates are estimates; actual timing depends on your bank.
Exceptions we will review
Contact support@get-sparkd.com within 30 days if:
- A Spark was sent by mistake and has not yet been claimed.
- You believe a Spark was sent fraudulently or without your authorization.
- A technical error caused a duplicate or incorrect amount.
Where a Spark is confirmed to be unauthorized or the result of a technical error, we will work with our payment partner to return the funds.
Fraud and disputes
Spark may hold, reverse, or decline a Spark that we or our payment partner believe is fraudulent, abusive, or prohibited. Chargebacks initiated with your card issuer are handled under our payment partner's dispute process.
Testing period
While Spark is in simulated mode, no real money moves and balances are for demonstration only. Refunds are not applicable to simulated transactions.
