Spark Ventures ("Spark") operates the Spark app and get-sparkd.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have.
Information you give us
- Account details: first and last name, username, email address, and optional phone number.
- Profile content: profile photo and bio.
- Spark content: amounts, appreciation messages, and recognition badges.
- Support messages you send us.
Information we collect automatically
- Basic device and log data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps.
- Product usage needed to operate features like notifications and unread counts.
Camera access is used only to scan Spark QR codes on your device. We do not store camera images.
Banking and payment information
Spark does not collect or store your bank login credentials or full bank account numbers. When live payments are enabled, bank connection, identity verification, and payouts are handled by our third-party payment partner (Stripe), and that information is submitted directly to them under their own privacy policy. We receive only limited status information, such as whether your account is ready to receive payouts.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and operate the app.
- To deliver Sparks, notifications, and claim links.
- To display Sparks the recipient has chosen to share publicly.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and prohibited activity.
- To respond to support requests and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not run third-party ad targeting.
What is public
Your name, username, photo, and bio appear on your public Spark profile. A Spark becomes publicly visible only when the recipient chooses "Share" — otherwise it stays private to the sender and recipient.
Who we share with
- Our payment partner, to move money and meet financial regulations.
- Infrastructure providers who host and secure the app on our behalf.
- Law enforcement or regulators when legally required.
Retention
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and afterward as required for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes.
Your choices
- Edit your profile information at any time in the app.
- Change a Spark's share/private setting from your notifications.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing support@get-sparkd.com.
Children
Spark is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to accounts is protected by authentication, and database access is restricted by per-user security rules. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
